Day 3 Dinner Debriefing: Goldstone

Caroline has a second cousin that lives near Rapid City, and she had emailed him that we would be in his neighborhood. Wayne and his son Tom took the time to drive out to Keystone so they could join us for dinner.

The Goldstone features mostly Mexican food, so I had a burro and Caroline had a chicken enchilada and a chicken taco. Both were quite good, and the bill for all four of us was about the same as last night’s dinner for just the two of us. I do give the Goldstone credit for a wine list that included some nice California bottles and some Australian choices that would probably go well with Mexican food. We had a Louis Martini Cabernet.

We had a lively conversation with Wayne and Tom, but it was largely about genealogy, so I won’t write about it here. I’ll just say it was good to see Wayne again – he visited us once in Kenora – and it was nice to meet Tom. On a husband and wife road trip, it’s usually fun to have some extra company once in a while.
