White Mountains

Today we drove from Burlington, VA to Portsmouth, NH. But not in a straight line. We doubled the length of the drive by zig-zagging through the White Mountains on the Kancamagus Highway, then backtracking to see some of the Lake Country before heading for the coast.

Some highlights. Spotted a perfectly serendipitous covered bridge. Dwayne, this one’s for you.

We went even further out of our way to visit The Flume Gorge. We had our picnic lunch first and then went for the hour-long walk through the gorge.

This hike was in addition to our morning walk in Burlington, by the way.

Up next, the dinner debacle.
